About Me

My photo
I was 53 in June. I feel like I'm 30. I live in Cold Cold Wisconsin. But, I love it here.. I found fabric and quilting about 8 years ago.. I fell in love with it.. I also enjoy paper art.. I'm not sure how I kept my sanity before I started doing art. I found rubber stamps about 10 years ago and have gone on to anything and everything.. I have been blessed with creative talents and love to express myself in art. I have 2 children .. one girl who is 15 and a boy who is 17. My husband and I love to hunt, canoe and just enjoy the outdoors together.. We all love the outdoors and go up to northern Wisconsin as often as possible. I'm a 14 year breast cancer survivor.. you can view more of my art at http://laurakrasinskiquilts.blogspot.com www.picturetrail.com/barngirl or my teaching, lecture and vending schedule here http://laurakrasinskisartontherun.blogspot.com

Altered Cabinet Card for a Mingle

This was another fun project.

Making alittle Christmas

Wow this weekend went like a whirlwind. Between making Thanksgiving dinner and entertaining and putting up my Christmas trees and decorations, I actually got some time in for making alittle Christmas. I made a few more Christmas Ornaments. These are made with the tops of tin cans...I have to take them to the office tomorrow and use my drill to drill a hole on the top to tie some ribbon to hang it from. These are really fun to make and I am planning on making some more this coming weekend with Patti G. Here is an ornament that has been drilled and beads added... It turned out nice I think...

Art was in the house today

I have been working on quite a few projects today. I have completed a few too. I am working on Christmas ornaments and Christmas presents. I made a 5x5 fabric page for a swap. Her theme was birds.. the cardinal has alot of angelina fibers in it under tulle which is hard to see from the photo... The dog ornament was for a challenge with a puppy theme. The Christmas ornaments still need some ribbons put on them... What a great day. I am also working on a quilt that I won't be able to post until January.

Fiber for a Cause Postcards

THese are the 2 postcards I received from Linda M. from the Houston show. She shopped for me.. I wanted southwest themed cards and she did a great job picking these out. The one on the left was made by Lorraine Strohkirch and the one on the right was made by Sherry Boram...
For those of you who are not familiar with Fiber for a Cause. We sent in fabric postcards and bought fabric postcards for the American Cancer Society. To make a long story short Virginia Spiegel worked very hard to raise this money.. She wanted to raise $100,00.00 but, she ( and her helpers, of which there were many) raised over $110,00.00. Each postcard was handmade by gals all over the world and were sold for $30.00 each. I saw the all the cards hanging in Chicago and it was amazing. I heard that Houston was incredible.
