About Me

My photo
I was 53 in June. I feel like I'm 30. I live in Cold Cold Wisconsin. But, I love it here.. I found fabric and quilting about 8 years ago.. I fell in love with it.. I also enjoy paper art.. I'm not sure how I kept my sanity before I started doing art. I found rubber stamps about 10 years ago and have gone on to anything and everything.. I have been blessed with creative talents and love to express myself in art. I have 2 children .. one girl who is 15 and a boy who is 17. My husband and I love to hunt, canoe and just enjoy the outdoors together.. We all love the outdoors and go up to northern Wisconsin as often as possible. I'm a 14 year breast cancer survivor.. you can view more of my art at http://laurakrasinskiquilts.blogspot.com www.picturetrail.com/barngirl or my teaching, lecture and vending schedule here http://laurakrasinskisartontherun.blogspot.com

It's been a long climb... Art Giveaway....!!!!

Ok.. there comes a time in a persons life when they start going backwards.. I guess that would be when you turn 50.. My AARP card arrived in the mail today.. right on schedule... Wow... how did they know? Life has been good ... at least up the hill.. now for the hopefully long plunge downhill...not spiralling would be good.. Since things are going to start going backwards I decided for my 50th birthday I will give someone ( one of my fans...hmph....) a Birthday Present.. Instead of getting presents.. I have always loved to give much more than to receive. Post to this blog.. and hopefully, if I remember on my birthday ( June 5th) I will put all the names in a hat and pull one special YOUNGER person or OLDER person ( because at 50 everyone is either Younger or Older) to win the piece of art I started on today!!! It will be FUN!!! I will give you a hint.. it has many different techniques in it.. some fabric, some wool, some beads, some ribbons... and it is a piece of art not a grab bag... Sooooo hold on to your keyboard and let your fingers do the talking.. Hope to hear from all my pals... from the past, present and the future.... Hugs to all...and thank you God for such a wonderful journey... SO FAR>.....

My bed quilt

I picked up my quilt from the quilter today... Gloria did a beautiful job.. I had to put it on my bed right away...I fell in love with these fabrics when Luella Doss brought some of her quilts to our guild. She designed the fabrics and they were distributed by Free Spirit. I had fun making this quilt in my own design.

Fatty and the Water Fountain

Well, since I don't have any art to share I thought I would share these photos of the cat getting caught with his paw in the cookie jar.. or should I say his mouth getting caught in the fountain... Fatty loves to drink the water from my fountain in the garden. He stands on the window sill and leans over to drink.. I was hopint to get a photo of him with his tongue out but, it didn't work that way... He looks so funny like he did get caught doing something wrong. The water fountain has a turtle on top of it that my husband added because the top broke off.. Mike is incredible when it comes to fixing things. He is quite creative.
