About Me

My photo
I was 53 in June. I feel like I'm 30. I live in Cold Cold Wisconsin. But, I love it here.. I found fabric and quilting about 8 years ago.. I fell in love with it.. I also enjoy paper art.. I'm not sure how I kept my sanity before I started doing art. I found rubber stamps about 10 years ago and have gone on to anything and everything.. I have been blessed with creative talents and love to express myself in art. I have 2 children .. one girl who is 15 and a boy who is 17. My husband and I love to hunt, canoe and just enjoy the outdoors together.. We all love the outdoors and go up to northern Wisconsin as often as possible. I'm a 14 year breast cancer survivor.. you can view more of my art at http://laurakrasinskiquilts.blogspot.com www.picturetrail.com/barngirl or my teaching, lecture and vending schedule here http://laurakrasinskisartontherun.blogspot.com

What a summer....so far

It has been quite sometime since I have updated my blog.  I guess my life has been pretty boring and I really don't have much to share.
I haven't been doing much quilting since I got my job in February.  Which by the way I love.
I did take up running in May.
Last year some friends of mine ran the Breast Cancer Run down at the lakefront in Milwaukee for me, being a survivor and well I opened my big mouth and told them I would join them next year.  Jen reminded me in May.  She knew it would take me a few months to prepare for the Sept. 21st run.  And she was right.  I started very slowly in May.  The weather was terrible but, in the last 2 months I have been running as much as I can.  I signed up for a 5 K in Elm Grove.  It was raising money for Alzheimer's.  Little did I know 2 days before the race my mom was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's.  The Lord works in mysterious ways.  So I continue to try and run faster.  My first 5 K was fun.  All the girls were cheering me on and bought me a after my first 5K MOJITO!!
It was delicious!!  I have one more 5 K before the Breast Cancer Run.  If you feel so inclined to donate to my cause you can here.  I'm trying to raise $100.

Here's a few photos I took this summer.. Except the one of me Mike took.  I'm having a lot of fun with my camera too.  Life Is Good!!

So sorry to hear about your Mom but good to catch it early- there is stuff that can be done to help now. I lost my step dad to Alzheimer's and Lung Cancer in March- awful combo- we are very blessed that he is free of pain now though!! I think of you often! hugs!!!
